Jack Daniels French Onion Soup has that perfect blend of tastes that works well together.
Obviously, you don't have to add the booze to your onion soup but, you certainly could.
Jack Daniels French Onion Soup.
French onion soup is almost like a meal in itself.
That is because this is a relatively hardy soup for a broth soup. It could be because of the bread or it could be because of the onions and cheese. It really is a delicious soup no matter how it fills you up.
French onion soup really is like a marriage of two processes.
The first process is the caramelizing of the onions. Basically we are sauteing our onions, in butter, until they begin to brown and become sweet to taste. The butter gives our soup a rich taste as well. The second process, of course, is cooking of the soup itself.
There is an easy cheat for this recipe.
The base for French onion soup is a beef base. You could use a prepared beef broth. However, an easy cheat for this would be to use bullion cubes and water instead. While the ladder would not taste as rich as the first option, you would save a few calories and could easily use a lower salt method of preparing your soup.
By the way, if you are looking for some other soup ideas, I do have other recipes that you may like.
