Low Carb Penne Pasta Bake
This pasta bake tastes just like the other stuff.
However, it is not filled with a lot of carbohydrates as well.
I should also mention that there are not a lot of ingredients in this bake.
But, I also like that it is easy to make. Thus, this is a meal that I can easily go pasta-crazy over.
Pasta bake is a well-liked dish.
It is relatively easy to make as you can easily make it in advance and then just set the oven to bake
However, it is also filling and can feed a few other people besides yourself.
There certainly is more than just pasta in this bake.
This bake contains vegetables in the form of tomatoes in the sauce and other vegetables that are added to it.
Also, we add protein to this dish thanks to the cheese and meat that we can add.
There are a few items that you will need for this recipe that you may not have on hand.

The truth is that tomatoes do have carbs in them and we use tomatoes to make pasta sauce. However, most pasta sauces that are available for us to buy have sugar added to them. Thus, using a pasta sause that has no added sugar is what we need to use in this recipe to keep the carbs down.

What you will need to make this Low Carb Penne Pasta Bake
It is recommended that you make this pasta bake in a 9 X 13 baking dish.
- Low Carb Penne Pasta - 1 eight ounce package prepared according to directions.
- Ground beef or turkey- 1 pound browned in a skillet. I usually use ground turkey and cook this on medium heat with a tablespoon to a tablespoon and a half of olive oil. I also add a bit of seasoning and a chopped garlic clove for some taste. Go meatless with this dish by subbing in some chopped cauliflower instead if you prefer.
- Mushrooms- 1 4 ounce can, drained. Sliced or pieces work fine.
- Low Carb Pasta Sauce- 1 25-28 ounce jar.
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese- 2 cups. Can sub in other similar cheese such as Parmesan or Provolone as long as it adds up to 2 cups of cheese total.
- Seasonings as desired.
How to make Low Carb Penne Pasta Bake
- Start by preparing your pasta as designated on the package and cooking your meat or turkey. Drain the pasta before using it in this recipe as well. Prep your casserole for nonstick. Preheat your oven to 325.
- Combine together the pasta, mushrooms, and pasta sauce in a large bowl. Then stir in the meat and then 1 ½ cups of the cheese.
- Evenly distribute the combined ingredients to your casserole dish. Top this with the remaining cheese.
- Bake this dish for 20-25 minutes or until it begins to bubble.
