Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325 and prep a square pan for nonstick. I use Parchment Paper that overhangs the sides of the pan.
    parchment-lined square metal pan
  • In a large mixing bowl, use a whisk or a fork to mix together the flour, sugar alternative, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Then stir in the soda. Lastly, fold in the chocolate chips.
    Mix Batter
  • Bake the brownies for 35-40 minutes or until the center appears to start setting and the edges start to pull away from the pan. Using the toothpick method may not be so accurate when you are adding chocolate chips so you may want to check in more than one place. Keep in mind that we are not using eggs in this recipe as well.

Recipe Notes

I mentioned that using a granular sugar alternative that measures 1:1 with sugar is essential for keeping a balance in the ingredients. Also, mentioned is that if you are looking to make a more cake-like brownie you can omit the chocolate chips (and optionally add an egg).
Also mentioned above were a few alternative ways to make this recipe.
The biggest hack for this recipe is to simply omit the dry ingredients and use a box of find sugar free brownie mix . Another option is to use another kind of cola instead of the Dr. Pepper such as a regular sugar free cola or even coffee
