Baked Crab (With Beer!) Dip

A tasty and fun standard warm dip that can have beer added to it for a twist.
Prep Time10 minutes
Cook Time30 minutes
Total Time40 minutes

Ingredients

  • What you will need to make this.
  • Cream Cheese- 1 8 ounce package
  • Greek Yogurt- ¾ cup yes, you could use mayo instead.
  • Beer- 3 tablespoons. Can use a sub- see post for details. If no sub or no beer is used simply up the Greek Yogurt to 1 full cup.
  • Crab meat- fresh and lumpy is the best however not everyone (including me) has everyday access to this. Thus, an imitation crab meat might work as well.
  • Colby Jack Cheddar or Pepper Jack Cheese- ¾ cup grated or shredded. I sometimes like to combine cheeses. As long as it adds up to ¾ cup, you should be okay.
  • Optional- 2 tsp. seasonings to taste and/or 2 cloves minced garlic, and/or 1 tsp hot sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 and prep your baking dish for nonstick. I like to rub a bit of olive oil on mine.
  • In a mixing bowl, blend together the cream cheese and the yogurt. You can add optional ingredients at this point as well.
  • Gently stir in the beer and then the crab meat. Do not over-blend these into the bowl.
  • Evenly spread the mix into the baking dish.
  • Top with the cheese and any optional desired seasonings.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until you see some bubbling.
