Super Easy Caprese Salad Wraps

This wrap is an easy way to enjoy a Caprese Salad when you are on the go.

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes- 1 per wrap heirloom or Roma sliced.
  • Basil leaves- 8-10 per wrap. I actually used two kinds of dark green leaves in this wrap.
  • Mozzarella Cheese- fresh is preferred. Use sliced or shredded for best results. About an ounce or a deli sized slice per wrap.
  • Wraps or tortillas- 1 per wrap
  • Red wine vinegar-will be drizzled as needed
  • Olive Oil- will be drizzled as needed.
  • Optional seasonings to taste- pepper salt, and/or red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Slice the tomatoes about ½" thick for best results. If slicing your own mozzarella, slice ¼-1/2" as well.
  • Lay out your wrap on a flat surface.
  • Start layering ingredients with the the largest and flattest ingredients first. If using deli sliced cheese, it will be the cheese. If not, it will probably be your basil leaves.
  • Once the tomatoes, basil and cheese are on the wrap you can sprinkle with the olive oil and vinegar. The sprinkle any optional seasonings.
  • Roll up your wrap and enjoy.

Recipe Notes

Tip: fold up one end (bottom or top) about 1 ½" before rolling the wrap side to side to prevent losing ingredients while you eat.
