How To Make Keto Fathead Dough, the basic 'bread' dough that can be used in gluten free, keto and low carb diet recipes
Melt the mozzarella and the cream cheese together. You can do this using a microwave safe bowl. Microwave the ingredients until melted. This should take between one and two minutes to do. I suggest keeping an eye on the melting cheese as you do not want it to burn.
Add the almond flour and the egg to the melted cheese.
Transfer the fathead dough to a flat surface dusted with almond flour. When the dough is at a temperature that you are comfortable kneading with, and knead the dough with your hands until the dough comes together and is no longer sticky! I
I mentioned that this can be a sticky dough to work with when you are using your hands. Coating your hands with a bit of oil help prevent that sticking.
I also mentioned that the cheese can be hot after it has melted.
After the cheese is melted it can become really hot or too warm to actually work with. I suggest waiting until you are comfortable to actually work with it before you touch the dough.
As mentioned, you can store extra fathead dough in the refrigerator for a couple of days or in the freezer for longer. Just be sure to wrap the dough well in plastic wrap and allow it to get to room temperature before using.
