Air Fried Low Carb Hush Puppies
The perfect appetizer, snack or even side treat to make and easy. This is how to make homemade Air Fried Low Carb Hush Puppies .
Preheat your air fryer to 400. I lightly spray my basket for nonstick
In a medium bowl, combine together the Carbquik Baking Mix , cornmeal (or sub) and baking soda. You can add any desired seasonings to taste here as well. Next, stir in the eggs and then add in the buttermilk.
When you are able to form a hush puppy, place it into your basket, being careful that your hush puppies are not touching one another. When your basket is full, bake for 4 minutes, shake or flip your hush puppies, and then bake until done- about four to five more minutes.
As mentioned, this recipe calls for cornmeal. You are welcome to use cornmeal in your hush puppies as I have decreased the amount needed in this recipe from the original recipes.
However, instead of cornmeal, you can use Almond Flour or Flaxseed Meal.
Also, as mentioned above, you will need Carbquik baking mix.
