Grilled Romaine Salad Recipe

This easy low carb and gluten free Grilled Romaine Salad recipe is delcious and topped with bacon and tomatoes to make it BLT style

  • Prepare the Romaine lettuce as described in post. Brush the grill grates with olive oil and then preheat it to a medium temperature while you prepare the romaine halves.

  • In a cup or small bowl, whisk together the olive oil and the seasonings. Next, brush this mixture over the over the cut side of both halves of the romaine lettuce.

  • Place the romaine halves on the prepared grill grate with the cut side down. Cook this until the leaves appear to start charring or wilting. Do not flip this over to cook. Your romaine should be done cooking in 3-5 minutes depending on the fire. Transfer the romaine halves to a clean plate or flat surface with the grilled side up. Top the romaine halves with the remaining ingredients and serve

Recipe Notes

As mentioned, prepare the Romaine lettuce for this recipe by rinsing the lettuce under cool water. Then tear off the outer leaves and discard them. Simply use a large kitchen knife to slice the romaine lengthwise in half. Then use a kitchen towel or paper towel to blot off the excess water.
