Instructions

  • I like to give my air fryer basket a quick spray with nonstick before I use it. Preheat your air fryer to 360 while you work.

  • We will set up the dredging station using two shallow bowls. In the first bowl, whisk together the flour alternative, bread crumbs, and seasonings. In the second bowl, beat together the eggs and water.

  • I suggest using a fork to dredge each individual mushroom first in the liquid bowl (allow to drip over that bowl and then proceed) then through the dry ingredient bowl. Flick off any excess dry ingredients. Then place each mushroom into the air fryer basket. Do not overlap mushrooms. You will probably need to make more than one batch of mushrooms.

  • Air fry each batch for 8-10 minutes or until the appear to be browning and crunchy (done).

Recipe Notes

As mentioned, to make this low carb, use a low carb all purpose flour.
Also, to make this keto use a keto all purpose flour.
Lastly, to make this recipe gluten free, use an all purpose gluten free flour.
Also, if you are using Almond flour, please add an additional egg to the batter to aid in the binding process. I suggest anyone using any of the all purpose flour alternatives check the packaging to see if an additional egg or other binder for gluten free baking is needed as well.
