Sugar Free Cherry Frozen Yogurt

This easy and delicious dessert recipe for Sugar Free Cherry Frozen Yogurt will impress. Make this low in fat.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups Cherries -pitted, stems removed, cut in half
  • 1 ½ cups Yogurt - plain or vanilla
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the cherries as indicated. In a food processor or study blender, combine the ingredients until well blended and smooth. This should take one to two minutes most likely. You may need to stop the machine periodically to scrape the sides of the container

  • Transfer the mixture to a freezer container that can be covered. Freeze until the mixture reaches a frozen consistency- about 2 ½ to 3 hours. Allow the frozen mixture to sit out for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Recipe Notes

I mentioned that the flavor and sweetness of this dessert come from the cherry fruit itself rather than adding sugar. However, I also mentioned that if you are wanting added sweetness you can add sugar alternative or honey as an optional ingredient.
Also mentioned was how to prepare the cherries for this recipe.
Prepare your cherries by rinsing or washing them (what you usually do to clean them).
Remove the cherry pits and then cut them in half.
Optional- honey or sugar alternative equivalent to 1-2 tablespoons of sugar. or as desired.
