Sugar Free Basil Lemonade

Sugar Free Basil Lemonade, a refreshing homemade recipe for lemonade with healthy benefits and no added sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Lemon Juice -fresh
  • ½ cup Stevia - see post for alternatives and details
  • 1 cup Basil - fresh leaves
  • 3 cups Water

Instructions

  • In a blender, blend together the lemon juice, stevia, and basil until smooth. Place a strainer over a large pitcher and pour the contents from the blender into the pitcher to remove the large remnants.

  • Add the water to the pitcher and the chia seeds. Allow the chia seeds to double in size become gelatinous (about 15 minutes) before serving, stirring as needed. Serve this lemonade over ice with additional basil as a garnish.

The easiest way to make this recipe for lemonade is to use a blender, although you can also make it by hand in a pitcher.
A blender will ensure that the ingredients get well blended together.
 
I mentioned that chia seeds can be added to this recipe for added healthy benefits.
To add the chia seeds you will need to allow them to sit in the lemonade for 15 minutes or until they double in size, stirring occasionally.
