To add the chia seeds you will need to allow them to sit in the lemonade for 15 minutes or until they double in size, stirring occasionally.
Ingredients needed to make sugar free basil lemonade.
- Lemon juice- 1 cup, freshly squeeze is preferred. That is about five and a half average sized lemons squeezed.
- Stevia- ½ cup. Feel free to adjust this amount to your tastes or use the sugar alternative of your choice instead.
- Basil- 1 cup of fresh basil leaves. Additional as needed for garnish when serving.
- Water- 3 cups cold.
- Ice
- Optional- chia seeds- 3-5 teaspoons or as desired.
How to make chia lemonade with basil.
- In a blender, blend together the lemon juice, stevia, and basil until smooth.
- Place a strainer over a large pitcher and pour the contents from the blender into the pitcher to remove the large remnants.
- Add the water to the pitcher and the chia seeds. Allow the chia seeds to double in size become gelatinous (about 15 minutes) before serving, stirring as needed.
