Preheat oven to 325. Prep your baking dish for nonstick.
Arrange the sliced apples in your prepped pan/dish/plate as you would like them to be presented. Divide the melted butter into tow bowls or measure cups that you can work in.Combine together your sugar alternative and brown sugar alternative. Whisk this into one of the melted butter cups/bowls that you just divided
Pour and brush this butter sugar alternative mixture over the apples. Bake this for about 25-30 minutes, apples should somewhat brown and become soft. Meanwhile, combine together your remaining ingredients.
When you remove your baked apples from the oven allow it to cool for about five minutes. Then evenly spread the remaining ingredients (butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, oats) over in between the apples. Return this to the oven and continue to bake for another 8-10 minutes.
Recipe Notes
Please see recipe post for important details.
As mentioned, you will need rolled oats, which you can easily find online. I like to use a combination of apples as Granny Smith, Golden Delicious, Gala, etc.Apples should be peeled, cored and sliced. It is easiest to core then slice in half. Then cut the slices in half again and slice the pieces about ½" thick.
