  • Preheat your oven to 325 and prep a baking dish for nonstick.
  • In a large bowl, use a whisk to combine together the flour, baking powder, baking soda,cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
  • Next, in a large mixing bowl, beat together the applesauce, oil, and the brown sugar alternative. Then mix in the eggs and the vanilla extract.
  • Add the dry ingredients from the fist bowl to the mixing bowl and mix until just combined.
    If you are adding the chopped nuts or apple chunks you can fold them into the batter at this point.
  • Bake the cake for 50 to 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
    Remove the cake from your oven and place it onto a wire rack to fully cool.
  • To make the frosting, simple beat together the frosting ingredients until creamy.
  • When the cake is fully cool, you can frost the cake.
