Ingredients

Instructions

  • Prepare. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Also, prep a baking sheet for nonstick. Parchment paper or a baking mat can work in this recipe.
  • Brown. Place your butter into a small saucepan on medium-high heat and allow it to melt. Once the butter has melted, continue to cook it until it becomes bubbly and golden brown (about three to five minutes) stirring or swirling the butter constantly. Set the browned butter aside to cool while you continue.
  • Dry Ingredients. In a medium bowl, use a whisk to combine together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  • Sugar Alternative. Place the sugar alternative into a mixing bowl. Once the browned butter has cooled to touch, pour it over the sugar alternative and then use a rubber spatula or similar item to gently scrape off the remaining remnants of the butter from the pan into the mixing bowl. Mix the brown butter and sugar alternative until just combined.
  • Egg. Add your egg and vanilla extract to the mixing bowl and use a whisk attachment to whisk the ingredients until it becomes slightly fluffy (about two to three minutes).
  • Combine Scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl and then add the dry ingredients from the first bowl to the mixing bowl and continue to whisk until the ingredients are just combined.
  • Scoop. Use a medium cookie scoop or similar item to scoop the dough from the mixing bowl, roll the dough into a ball, and then slightly flatten the cookie dough balls onto your prepared baking sheet about two inches apart from one another.
  • Bake Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes or until the edges begin to turn golden brown.
  • Cool Let the cookies sit on the baking sheets for a few minutes for the centers to set and then transfer them to a cooling rack to fully cool.
