Instructions

  • Prepare. Gather your ingredients as indicated. This includes having your butter melted.Preheat your oven to 350°F. Also, prep a 10" cast iron skillet well for nonstick.
  • Dry Ingredients. In a small bowl, use a whisk to combine together your unsweetened cocoa powder with the flour.
  • Wet Ingredients. In a large mixing bowl, beat or mix together the melted butter with the brown sugar alternative until combined. Then add the eggs and vanilla extract and beat the ingredients until well combined (about a minute and a half to two minutes).
  • Stir. Scrape down the sides of your mixing bowl and then add the dry ingredients from the first bowl to the mixing bowl. Stir these ingredients until just combined.
  • Chips. Lastly, use a rubber spatula or similar item to gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Bake. Evenly spread the brownie batter in your prepared skillet. Then bake the skillet brownie for 25-30 minutes or until your brownie is just set in the center (a few crumbs will be present on a toothpick test).
  • Serve. Allow the brownies to set for about ten minutes at room temperature before serving.
