Instructions

  • Start by double prepping two 8" pans (such as greasing and dusting with flour). Also preheat your oven to 350.
  • In a large mixing bowl, use a whisk to break up any lumps in the dry cake mix. Then mix in the nutmeg.
  • Add the eggnog, melted butter, eggs, and extract to the bowl and beat until just combined.
  • Evenly transfer the cake batter to the prepared cake pans and bake in the center of the racks until a toothpick comes out clean (about 35-40 minutes).
  • Remove the cake pans from the oven and allow the cakes to cool for about ten minutes in the pans before transferring them to a wire cooling rack to finish cooling.
