Ingredients

Instructions

  • Prepare. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Also, lightly grease your pan with butter or nonstick spray and then dust the pan with almond flour. Dry Ingredients. In a medium mixing bowl, use a whisk to combine together blanched almond flour, baking powder, and sea salt.
  • Cream. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter and sugar alternative on medium speed until light and fluffy (about three to five minutes).
  • Wet Ingredients Add the eggs, one at a time gently mixing between additions and then the almond and vanilla extracts, mixing until combined.
  • Combine. Scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl and then set the mixer on low speed. Gradually add the dry ingredients from the medium bowl. Mix the ingredients until just combined.
  • Bake. Evenly spread the cake batter into your prepared springform pan. Sprinkle the slivered almonds generously over the top of the batter. Then bake the cake for 35-40 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before carefully removing the springform ring. Transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, dust generously with powdered sugar before slicing and serving.
