I like that it is a delicious and cheesy sandwich that looks so yummy too!

Low Carb Air Fried Grilled Cheese

This idea is for those of us who just have to have that crazy yummy grilled cheese sandwich.
But, we also want that sandwich to be easy to make and with alternative bread as well.

Really, who does not crave a great tasting grilled cheese sandwich at one time or another?
For me, it is usually on a cold day when there is soup involved. However, really, I could eat a gooey grilled cheese sandwich any time of the year as well.

I must say that my air fryer is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets- or whatever you may want to define it.

When you cook with an air fryer you really can not ruin whatever you put into it. I have a friend who likes to refer to air frying as 'cooking for dummies' because it is so easy to do.

I must also say that air fryers have come a long way since I first purchased mine.
When I bought my air fryer it was that basic giant egg shaped air fryerthat I wanted for that rare occasion that I wanted to try cooking potatoes in it. By the way, potatoes are fabulous in the air fryer ๐Ÿ™‚ .

However, I am currently looking to update my air fryer to the new wave of toaster oven air fryers.

My toaster oven is old, yet, still working fine. I keep it around because it has that 'bagel' setting on it, which the new ones do not seem to have. Getting a toaster oven that is also an air fryer is something that would be seriously useful in this house!

For this recipe, the kind of an air fryer that you use should have little effect on the recipe itself.
However, I have designed this recipe for use with the black egg shaped air fryer that I currently have. If you decide to make your sandwich with the air fryer that is on my shopping list, please keep an eye on your sandwich through the window of it as the finish time may differ from mine.

What is also important to this recipe is the bread that you will use to make your sandwich.

I know that I mentioned that this is a low carbohydrate sandwich recipe. Thus, you can use low carb bread to make your prefect grilled cheese sandwich.

However, there are other bread alternatives to regular bread that you can also use.
You can find gluten free bread here. Also, keto bread can be used as well.

We all know that the sliced cheese that you use can affect the taste of your grilled cheese sandwich.

American Cheese is the standard cheese that people seem to make their grilled cheese sandwich with. However, you are free to use any cheese that suits your needs, included a vegan cheese.
