Ingredients needed to make this Sugar Free Skillet Cookie
- Flour. You can use an alternative all purpose flour, such as low carbohydrate all purpose flour, as long as it measures like regular all purpose flour, taking binding needs into consideration if needed.
- Baking Soda. Added for leavening.
- Butter. Your butter should be melted and then cooled to room temperature. If you are using unsalted butter, add a half teaspoon of salt to the flour.
- Brown Sugar Alternative and Granular Sugar Alternative. For best results, select sugar alternatives that measure like sugar and that can also be baked with.
- Eggs. Your eggs should be at room temperature for better blending.
- Vanilla Extract. Added for flavor balance.
- Sugar Free Chocolate Chips. You can use any no added sugar chocolate chips as long as it can be baked with.
Expert Tip 👉 Use an oven-safe skillet to make this recipe as not all skillets are oven safe.
How to make a Sugar Free Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie
Prep Time: 10 minutes.
Bake Time: 25 minutes.
Servings: 10.
- Start by preheating your oven to 325 and prepping your skillet for nonstick if needed.
- In a medium bowl, use a whisk to mix together the flour, baking soda, and optional salt.
- Next, in a mixing bowl, combine together the cooled melted butter with the sugar alternatives (both brown and white sugar alternatives). Then stir in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- Add the dry ingredients from the first bowl to the ingredients in the mixing bowl and mix until just combined. Then use your rubber spatula to fold in half of the sugar free chocolate chips.
- Transfer the ingredients to your prepared skillet and use the backside of your spoon or your hands to press the cookie dough into place.
- Top the cookie with the remaining chocolate chips and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cookie begins to turn golden brown. Carefully remove the cookie from your oven and let it cool for at least 20 minutes before serving.
Expert Tip 👉 It is normal for the center of the cookie to look soft in the center when you take it out of the oven. The cookie will continue to bake in the warm skillet while it is cooling to room temperature.
