I use this crust for making homemade pies and cheesecakes.
How to Make a Sugar Free Graham Cracker Pie Crust
I while back I mentioned that I would soon be posting a recipe for how to make this crust.
This crust works great with cheesecakes and pies. I like to make more than one at a time and freeze away when I am not going to be using at the moment.
Most people do not factor in the crust when it comes to factoring sugar content.
We do not always think of the crust as a contributor to the much more than the taste or structure of out creations. However, many crusts do have sugar added to them. This holds especially true for those inexpensive pre-made crusts that we see in the grocery stores. The really do seem like a convenient thing to use as they are pre-made and also come in their own pie tin. However, I find that it is important to know what is in that crust before I will serve it.
This recipe is based upon another recipe that I posted a while back.
Since this recipe is for a graham cracker crust, we will need to use graham crackers to make it. I have yet to know where I can actually purchase sugar free graham crackers so, I need to make my own. Luckily, I like to make s'more with those graham crackers as well. You can find my recipe for sugar free graham crackers here.
Of course, there is a hack for this recipe too.
I can respect that time is valuable and as a result, not everyone has time to make their own graham crackers. In my case, it is a good thing that I am short on time as I would be eating graham crackers all day long (with peanut butter...) if I had more time to make them. However, as mentioned, there is a hack available. Simply substitute in crushed sugar free cookies for the graham crackers. I've even used old chocolate chip cookies to make a crust using this recipe. You can find sugar free shortbread cookies, sugar free oatmeal cookies, and even sugar free chocolate chip cookies , all of which may work for you.

The recipe for How to Make a Sugar Free Graham Cracker Pie Crust
- Prep an oven-safe pie plate for nonstick and preheat your oven to 375.
- In a bowl, you will combine all of your ingredients starting with the crushed crackers. Place the crushed crackers in the bowl and stir in the sugar alternative over them. Then, pour the melted butter over the contents of the bowl, moving the contents around as you do so in an effort to get the crackers covered with the butter.
- Attempt to get a handful of the mixture in your hand. If you are able to press the ingredients together, you are ready to move on. If not, try to add a teaspoon of water or additional melted butter at a time until you are able to manipulate the mixture.
