I like that this cookie does not have a bunch of sugar in it.
This chocolate chip cookie recipe is probably just as good as my recipe for the best Chocolate Chip Cookies.
However, this cookie has that added touch of chocolate in it. Both cookie recipe are good and both do not have sugar added to them.
This is a soft cookie and here is how to keep them soft.
I suppose that I should say that if you are a fan of the hard cookie, you should probably pass up this paragraph. Having said that, both options for cookies are good ones too.
Here is how to make this cookie nice and soft when you bite into it.
Substitute margarine or a butter flavored shortening for half of the butter in this recipe to make these cookies soft. Then, store them in an air tight container with a slice of bread to keep your cookies soft. I'll share a few more tips in a moment.

- All Purpose Flour- 2 cups.
- Baking Powder- ยพ teaspoon.
- Baking Soda-ยฝ teaspoon.
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder- ยฝ cup.
- Butter- 1 cup+ 1 tablespoon (17 tablespoons total) softened to room temperature. You can sub in margarine or a butter flavored shortening for half of the butter in this recipe to make a softer cookie.
- Granular Sugar Alternative - 1 ยผ cups equivalent to sugar. that measures 1:1 with sugar. Please use a granular sugar alternative that measures 1:1 with sugar for best results.
- Eggs- 2.
- Vanilla Extract- 2 teaspoons.
- Sugar Free Chocolate Chips 1 ยฝ cups
How to make Sugar Free Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Preheat your oven to 325 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper .
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and unsweetened cocoa powder. Set this bowl aside while you continue.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together your butter with your sugar alternative. Then and the eggs and the vanilla and beat until somewhat fluffy.
- For the next step, we will add the dry ingredients from the first bowl to the mixing bowl. Do this by adding half of the dry ingredients at a time, stirring between additions taking care to not over mix your cookie dough. Then, fold in your chocolate chips.
- Bake your cookies for 10-12 minutes or until they appear to be set. Cool your cookies on a wire rack.
