Sugar Free Flour Free Chocolate Chip Cookies
For anyone who truly believes that you need flour, or any grain for that matter, to make cookies, I have some nifty news to share with you.
That is, great cookies do not need any kind of grain to be a cookie. Yay for that!!!
What I also like about these cookies is that they are really chewy.
Well, chewy and yummy that is. This cookie is really a fresh take on a standard recipe, and for a good result too!
You may be someone who is wondering do cookies need flour?
Hold on, I know I just spoke the gospel concerning cookies not needing flour to be cookies.
Certainly, if you are looking for a cookie that has a crisp texture and that can hold a shape, flour is a good thing.
But, flour is not an ingredient for everyone.
We all know that flour does come with its carbohydrates as well as calories. Also, if you are someone who is sensitive to grains and specifically wheat flour, avoidance is something that you live with on a daily basis.
These delicious chocolate chip cookies come without flour or added sugar.
Yest, despite those two common ingredients, these cookies are pretty good. And thank goodness for that.
What is important to making a successful cookie is to follow the ingredients that are listed in this recipe.
Adding an egg is essential to keeping the ingredients together. Just as important is the Baking Soda as the Baking Soda will help form the shape that we expect from a cookie.
This cookie recipe is based upon using peanut butter.
You can find sugar free peanut butter online.
I also have a recipe for how you can make your own sugar free peanut butter here.
I should also mention that you do not have to use peanut butter specifically in this recipe.
Almond butter will work in this recipe. Most any other nut butter should work as well, as long as it is made from nuts of course.
How you bake this cookie can determine how your cookie will turn out.
What I mean is that if you bake this cookie until the edges start to turn brown and then transfer the cookie to a rack to cool, your cookie will result in a softer texture. On the other hand, allowing your cookie to brown a bit more and cool on the warm cookie sheet, you will have a more crisp result from this recipe.
