    Sugar Free Iced Coffee Macchiato

The perfect cold coffee beverage that you can make yourself.
Even better, you do not have to add a bunch of sugar to make this macchiato taste good!

Did you try my Sugar Free Mocha Smoothie recipe?

That recipe is for a sugar free iced mocha what is made into a smoothie style beverage.
This recipe is really all about that copycat version of a sugar free Iced Caramel Macchiato.

I am always looking for anything that will make my holiday baking easier and better. Here are some Holiday Cookie Baking Essentials that you may also find helpful

This recipe is especially for anyone asking what is in a Starbucks caramel macchiato?

Obviously, that recipe is made with Starbucks espresso.
By the way, you can actually buy some Starbucks espresso already made here that you can use in this recipe.

To make this sugar free recipe like that famous recipe, you will also need a few other ingredients.

You can find Starbucks Vanilla Syrup here and caramel sauce here. Please note however, that these products may not be sugar free like the ingredients offered in this recipe.

You may also be wondering how do you steam milk at home.

Steamed milk is part of the recipe that many restaurants such as Starbucks uses for their caramel macchiato recipes.
The steamed milk gives the froth to this beverage.

    French Press to Make Froth
    French Press to Make Froth

Here is how to make your own steamed milk.

Use a microwave safe mug to heat the milk for 30 seconds or until warm. Then transfer the milk to a French Press and press until frothy.

Here are some tips for making Iced Macchiato.

I mentioned that if you want the actual espresso that Starbucks uses, you simply use buy some Starbucks espresso already made . Also, to get a frothy milk you can heat the milk and then use a French Press to make it frothy.

Here are some more helpful tips for you.

    1. You could use a vegan milk such as almond milk in this recipe however, please note that it will not froth as it does not have the chemical make-up as milk. But, you can find something even easier that has no added sugar in it. Foam whipped topping could be what can give you that foam topping without the calories, sugar, or carbs!
    2. Topping Iced Caramel Macchiato can make it even more fun to serve and drink. Try using shaved sugar free chocolate, whipped topping, or chopped nuts.
    3. I mentioned above that using a French Press can make this more like the original Macchiato that we are imitating. But, there is a such thing as a milk frother that will also work. If worse comes to worse, you could simply whisk the milk really well to get the bubbles in there.

I have a sugar free caramel sauce recipe that you can use in this. Even easier, you can buy sugar free caramel sauce online that would also work.

Your recipe says to use xanthan gum if your using milk but in the instructions it says to add it even if you use heavy cream. Can you clarify do I need to use xanthum either way or only if I use regular milk?

        November 2, 2020 at 9:49 am

The Xanthan Gum is used as a thickener. In this recipe it is used to thicken the macchiato if there is a heavy cream alternative, such as a nut milk, used. The decision to use this is entirely up to you as your Sugar Free Ice Coffee Macchiato consistency may be perfect as is for your liking. Thanks!
