- You could use a vegan milk such as almond milk in this recipe however, please note that it will not froth as it does not have the chemical make-up as milk. But, you can find something even easier that has no added sugar in it. Foam whipped topping could be what can give you that foam topping without the calories, sugar, or carbs!
- Topping Iced Caramel Macchiato can make it even more fun to serve and drink. Try using shaved sugar free chocolate, whipped topping, or chopped nuts.
- I mentioned above that using a French Press can make this more like the original Macchiato that we are imitating. But, there is a such thing as a milk frother that will also work. If worse comes to worse, you could simply whisk the milk really well to get the bubbles in there.
Macchiato also has caramel sauce in it.
I have a sugar free caramel sauce recipe that you can use in this. Even easier, you can buy sugar free caramel sauce online that would also work.

Your recipe says to use xanthan gum if your using milk but in the instructions it says to add it even if you use heavy cream. Can you clarify do I need to use xanthum either way or only if I use regular milk?
SFD
The Xanthan Gum is used as a thickener. In this recipe it is used to thicken the macchiato if there is a heavy cream alternative, such as a nut milk, used. The decision to use this is entirely up to you as your Sugar Free Ice Coffee Macchiato consistency may be perfect as is for your liking. Thanks!
