Did you try my recipe for Stevia Coated Nuts?

This recipe is for anyone asking where can I buy candied pecans.
We know that candied pecans can be, and usually are, laden with sugar to make them candied.
This recipe however, is for pecans that do not contain all of the added sugar.
My answer for anyone asking where they can buy sugar free candied pecans would be to first try making them.
This is not a hard recipe to make. Even better, these sugar free candied pecans are made in a slow cooker.
You may be wondering are there any benefits to eating pecans.
Let me start by saying how delicious I think pecans are. Also, I think the size and the shape of the pecans makes them perfect for a recipe such as this one.
However, there are some benefits to eating pecans.
Pecans are a good source of fiber, which we know helps keep the carbs down when we net them out.
Also, pecans are a decent source for magnesium, iron, and even protein (not many 'sweet' snacks can claim that!).
Here are some tips for making candied nuts.
This recipe works best with pecan halves or whole that are raw. Chopped pecans would be too small for folks to snack on.
Here are some more helpful tips for you.
- While this recipe is for pecans, you could use another nut or combine them with another nut. I like walnut halves for this recipe.
- I am presenting this recipe using Surkin Gold as a brown sugar alternative. Please use the brown sugar alternative of your choice. For best results, stick to an alternative that can be measured 1:1 with sugar and can be cooked or baked with.
- Vanilla extract that is used in this recipe for flavoring. However, you could try using another kind of extract such as Maple Extract or Rum Extract (got my attention!).
You may be wondering how long can you store candied pecans.
Storing these pecans is important if you want to keep them fresh and tasty.
Use an airtight container to store these nuts in the refrigerator (up to three weeks), freezer (a month or possibly longer), or in the pantry (for about a week). However, these method times may vary depending on the sweetener that you choose to use.

Ingredients needed to make Sugar Free Slow Cooker Pecans.
- Pecans- 3 cups. Please use pecan halves or wholes that are raw for best results. You could use another kind of pecan if you want the salt or added ingredients that come with it. Walnut halves can be used instead or with the pecans for this recipe.
- Brown Sugar Alternative- ½ cup. I mentioned that I am presenting this recipe using Surkin Gold as a brown sugar alternative. Please use the brown sugar alternative of your choice. For best results, stick to an alternative that can be measured 1:1 with sugar and can be cooked or baked with.
- Butter- ½ cup, cut in half. That is one stick. Have your butter at room temperature. Vegan folks can try using coconut oil and low fat folks can try using an alternative instead (I have not tried either).
- Ground Cinnamon- 1 teaspoon.

- Optional- up to a teaspoon of three of these or as desired. Pumpkin Pie Spice, Allspice, Nutmeg, or Ground Ginger.
How to make Sugar Free Slow Cooker Candied Pecans
- I like to give my slow cooker 'crock' a quick spray of nonstick spray.
- Combine together the nuts, sugar alternative, butter, cinnamon, extract and any additional seasonings in the slow cooker. Stir this well to fully cover the nuts with all of the ingredients.
- Set the slow cooker on high and slow cook for two hours. You will need to stir the nuts every thirty minutes to make sure that they cook evenly and for the ingredients to to cover evenly especially as the butter melts. TIP: Watch and stir the pecans while they are cooking to prevent burning.
- Meanwhile, prep a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Transfer the slow cooked nuts to the prepped baking sheet, spreading them out as evenly as possible. Then allow the nuts to cool before storing, serving, or eating.
- Stove Top Alternative:
Need a quicker version?
