- Prepare. Gather your ingredients and juice your lemons if you have not done so (you can include the pulp but, the seeds should be removed).
- Simple Syrup. Boil your water in a small pot or saucepan on medium-high. Once the water begins to boil, turn the heat down to low and use a whisk to blend in your sugar alternative, whisking until fully dissolved (about four to five minutes). Then allow the syrup to cool completely.
- Combine. Transfer your lemon juice to a large pitcher. Then stir in your cooled simple syrup.
- Water. Add half of your water to the pitcher and the stir the ingredients. The repeat with the remaining water. Taste the lemonade and make adjustments as needed.
- Serve. Serve your lemonade over ice with garnishes such as lemon slices and mint.

- Stirring in a teaspoon or so of vanilla extract after the simple syrup has cooled a bit can add a nice flavor to your lemonade.
- I find that juicing lemons is easier when your roll the lemon firmly between the palm of your and hand your countertop first.
