These biscuits are great to eat all by themselves.
However, they could also be enjoyed with gravy or even with a bit of sugar free jelly on top.

I will be using these biscuits as part of another recipe coming up.
That recipe is for a Sugar Free Monkey Bread. To be honest, I am thrilled that I can make either recipe without a bunch of sugar or carbs. I have two recipes that I will share for you here.

As mentioned, both recipes are rather simple recipe to make.

I will start with the first recipe. You will need a flour alternative. Make this recipe gluten free by using gluten free flour instead of regular flour. Or, you can make this recipe low carb by using low carb Carbalose flour. You can sub in Almond flour if Carbalose in unavailable.

For recipe 1- you will need a flour alternative. Make this recipe gluten free by using gluten free flour instead of regular flour (make sure it is low carb). Or, you can make this recipe low carb by using low carb Carbalose flour.

Can sub in Almond flour if Carbalose in unavailable.

What you will need to make this

Use Carbalose Flour to make these Homemade Low Carb Biscuits

I use this all of the time. If you have been here before you probably have seen Carbalose Flour in my recipes.

Carbalose Flour

Carbalose Flour
About the product
Use carbalose flour because unlike similar products, it is made mostly from wheat, yet it lacks most non fiber carbohydrates
Carbalose is a revolutionary new flour that can be used in place of wheat flour, but contains 80% less carbs. Use like regular flour in most recipes
Also, Carbalose is as close to real flour as you can get without being real flour

Finally,Carbalose flour does not contain any soy protein, sugar alcohols, dairy, animal originated, trans fatty, or saturated fat products.
Use like regular flour in most recipes.

  • Low Carb Carbalose flour.- 2 cups. Can sub in Almond flour if Carbalose in unavailable.
  • Baking Powder- 1 tablespoon.
  • Sugar Alternative- equivalent to ½ tablespoon of sugar.I use granular.
  • Butter- 1 stick (½ cup) cubed.
  • Milk, buttermilk, or half and half- ⅘ of a cup. That is just under 13 tablespoons.

How to make Homemade Low Carb Biscuits.

  • Preheat your oven to 400. Prep your pan for nonstick. I use parchment. You could just butter the bottom of a cast iron skillet. Also, prepare a flat surface with a bit of flour alternative or flour for preparing the dough.
  • Sift or mix together your flour alternative, baking powder and sugar alternative.
  • Next, cut your butter cubes into the flour.
  • When the mix resembles crumbs, you can add the milk to the flour mixture. I add a half at a time, stirring between additions. This will help you monitor the moistness of your biscuits.
  • When your dough is moist and pulling away from the sides of the bowl you can transfer it to the prepared flat surface from the first step.
  • Roll out the dough to your desired thickness and cut into circles. ½" thickness is usually good and also prevent sticking by flouring the dough and surface.
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the biscuits begin to brown.

Can I make these with Carbalose, but use the other ingredients plus a little sweetener and baking powder, instead of carbquik? I don't use milk anymore, and I'm concerned that the biscuits will be too greasy if I put in1/2 cup of butter, and almost a cup of heavy cream.

Hi. It is the nature for 'low carb' recipes to focus on 'fat' such as the fat in butter and heavy cream. Low carb and keto diets stress the 'fat' ingredients rather than carbohydrates because of the nature of the 'diet'. I am wondering if this recipe for Copycat Red Lobster Biscuits may work for you instead. Thanks!
