This delicious (and easy to make!) Keto Low Carb Almond Bread will impress you with its taste.
I like that this bread is friendly to many diets including the keto, low carb, paleo, and even Mediterranian diets.
Keto Low Carb Almond Bread
This recipe reminds me of other low carb bread recipes that I have posted on this site.
However, this recipe is specifically made with almond flour which certainly brings a kind of unique quality to it.
Warm bread just out of the oven really does make me a happy person.
I mean, not only do I get to smell something amazing, I get this thing about how yummy the bread will taste when I get to eat it. Warm bread baking in the oven brings me so many great childhood memories memories.
Part of what makes this Almond Flour recipe so good is that it is low in carbs.
We will be using a cup and a half of almond flour in this recipe. That nets us at about 12 grams of carbs for the entire loaf.
Almond flour is also a pretty healthy choice for a bread.
This is because almond flour is just finely ground skinless almonds. There is only one ingredient in this gluten free and low carbohydrate flour and that ingredient is almonds.
Some folks ask what is the best healthy flour to use for bread.
I would have to say that almond flour is probably up there on the list. If you think about it, you probably have not heard of a lot of folks complaining about the aftereffects from eating something made with almond flour like you would with other flours.
Almond flour really does have its own unique taste as well.
As you may expect, almond flour brings its own almond taste to the bread. That taste would be that nutty kind of flavor that we get from eating almonds.
Here are some tips Keto Low Carb Almond Bread
Because almond flour tends to bake more dense than other flours such as wheat flour, it is important to mix the batter well in order to give it some aeration.
Here are some more great tips for your almond bread.
- You may notice that there are more eggs than usual in this recipe when compared to other bread recipes. This is because almond flour is gluten free and the eggs help keep the bread together. As a result, your bread will taste a bit more like egg than other breads. I personally like how the egg and almond flavors work together.
- Moisture can be a big deal when it comes to almond bread which means that if you have a dry kitchen, as opposed to humid conditions, your bread may dry out faster.
- Almond bread keeps pretty well when store properly. You will want to let it cool and then store it loosely covered as it will need some ventilation. You can also freeze (I suggest slicing it first however) your bread for enjoying later.
Almond flour is a great substitute for bread or wheat based flour.
Not only is almond flour said to be heart healthy, it is also friendly to blood sugar levels. I should also mention that almond flour also brings a bit of protein the the mix as well.

As mentioned, part of what makes this Almond Flour recipe so good is that it is low in carbs. We will be using a cup and a half of almond flour in this recipe. That nets us at about 12 grams of carbs for the entire loaf.
We will be using flaxseed meal as the binder in this recipe for bread.
Since almond flour is gluten free, we need a binder such as flaxseed meal to keep the bread together. The fat that we are adding is olive oil however, using coconut oil (measure then melt) is an alternative option that you are welcome to use.
What you will need to make this Keto Low Carb Almond Bread
- Almond Flour- 1 ½ cups. For best results, please use a 'blanched almond flour'.
- Baking Powder- 3 teaspoons.
- Salt- 1 teaspoon.
- Flaxseed Meal- ⅓ cup. psyllium husk powder is an alternative that you can use however, you will need less of it than flaxseed meal (closer to ¼th cup).
- Eggs- 4.

- Olive Oil - 3 tablespoons. As mentioned, you could use coconut oil (measure then melt) as an alternative.
How to make Keto Low Carb Almond Bread
- Start by preheating your oven to 350 and prepping a loaf pan for nonstick. I like to first line my pan with Parchment Paper and then lightly using nonstick .
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the almond flour, baking powder, salt and flaxseed meal,
- Next, in smaller bowl, whip together the eggs and water.
- Add the contents from the smaller bowl (eggs and water) to the mixing bowl with the flour and other ingredients. Also add the olive oil and mix the ingredients together until you can form a dough. This is more of a quick bread and kneading is not necessary.
- Transfer the dough to the prepped loaf pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until the bread begins to brown. Allow the bread to cool in the loaf pan.
