I know that there are people, besides me, who are thrilled to know that there is such a thing as a Keto Sugar Free Margarita .

The best part is that not only does it taste really good, this drink is really easy to make!

Keto Sugar Free Margarita

If you liked my Sugar Free Copycat Chick-Fil-A Frozen Lemonade recipe, then you will probably like this one.

Certainly, that recipe is lemon in taste, frozen and nonalcoholic however, they are similar beverages in many ways (in my opinion).

This recipe can be served cold enough to make it into a slushy like consistency.

It can also be made as a really cold drink. How you serve it up is up to you. 🙂

There are people who do ask if you can have a margarita on a keto diet.

I can tell you that in the standard low carb diet, alcohol is allowed as it has no carbohydrates in it. However, drinking alcohol is limited and allowed in the later phases of the diet.

What is important to keep in mind about alcoholic beverages in how you prepare them.

Drinking them in their natural form, and in moderation, keeps them low in carbohydrates. But, adding other ingreduebts to them can cause a bit of trouble for dieters as these 'mixers' may have carbohydrates in them.

Personally, I like that this skinny margarita does not have added sugar in it.

If you have enjoyed a 'normal' margarita, say at your favorite restaurant with dinner, then you can probably assume that there was some kind of sugary syrup added to that margarita to make it taste yummy. And, of course, that syrup was probably laden with sugar. 🙁

Technically, the only sugar that is in this margarita version comes from the lime.

One average lime has about a gram of sugar in it. To make this recipe, for two servings, you will need two limes for the juice, which I should mention gives this beverage its margarita taste.

Here are some tips Keto Sugar Free Margarita

I already mentioned that the taste of this margarita comes mainly from the limes that are used to make it. This recipe for two servings calls for the juice of two limes which are about two grams of sugar total.

Here are some more tips for you.

  1. You can make this recipe in a shaker or blender.
  2. Adding more ice can stretch out this recipe and make it last longer. The ice can also make more servings and thus, even less sugar per serving.
  3. Salting the rim of the glass sure makes a margarita look prettier especially for photo taking. You can find margarita salters online that will make it easier and more accurate for your to do.

This recipe also calls for a sugar free carbonated beverage.

Not only does this carbonated beverage add to the volume and consistency of this margarita, it also adds to this taste. For this reason, you can consider using a flavored carbonated beverage such as a soda such as Fresca or a lime flavored carbonated beverage.
