Tips for making the best chocolate mousse.
It is essential that your heavy whipping cream comes just out of your refrigerator before adding it to this recipe. This will help insure that it will be able to whip into stiff peaks
More helpful tips for you.
- Refrigerating your mixing bowl along with the whisk attachments can also help make stiff peaks. Do this about 20 minutes before making this recipe.
- The unsweetened cocoa powder and powdered sugar alternative is placed into a bowl together and whisked to break up any lumps. You can alternatively sift these ingredients together.
- Like with regular powdered sugar, the sugar free version contains cornstarch. The cornstarch helps to stabilize your mousse while helping it avoid getting 'watery'.
- Plain unsweetened gelatin can also help mousse keep its structure.
- Resist the urge to over-whip your mousse. Doing so can make your mousse grainy or cause the cream to separate.
- Also resist the urge to under-whip your mousse as this can result in basically some kind of chocolate soup.
