Both this orange fudge recipe and that chocolate fudge recipe are delicious treats that can also be made with no added sugar.
To make this recipe you will need sugar free frosting. You can find a selection of sugar free (and keto choices too!) frosting here.
What you need to make Creamsicle Fudge.
- Sugar Free Vanilla Frosting. Use a 15-16 ounce container.
- Sugar Free White Chocolate Chips. Stick to 'baking chips' as they can be heated for a recipe such as this one. The baking chips usually have cocoa butter as an ingredient.
- Orange Extract. Use 'pure' extract for better flavoring.
- Orange Food Coloring. If you are good at mixing colors and cannot find 'orange' try blending together red + yellow to make your own orange. Gel coloring really works best with this recipe but, drops will still be effective.
How to make Creamsicle Fudge
- Start by prepping a square baking dish with parchment paper or foil that overhangs the sides of the dish. For larger fudge servings, you can use an 8x8 dish and for more servings a 9x9 dish should work for you.
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, use a large spoon to somewhat combine together the frosting and the sugar free white chocolate chips.
- Microwave the ingredients until they are melted and smooth, stopping every 20 seconds to carefully stir the ingredients. It should take between one and a half to two minutes for get the ingredients smooth and melted.
- Carefully remove the bowl from your microwave and stir in the in the extract.
- To make the swirl effect like my fudge has, remove about about a third of the fudge which will be the fudge that is white (without food coloring added).
- Add the orange food coloring to the larger bowl of fudge and stir. The amount of coloring that you should add depends on how orange you want you fudge to be. Then evenly spread the orange fudge into your prepared baking dish.
- Use a spoon to add the remaining (white) fudge to the dish without mixing together the layers as you do this. Then take a wooden skewer or similar items to swirl together the orange and white fudge. Mix in all directions to create an even โswirlโ pattern.
- Once the fudge has cooled to room temperature, cover it with wrap of foil and place it into the refrigerator to set. Lastly, when your fudge has fully set, you can lift it out of your pan, using the overhanging parchment paper, and slice it into servings.

Tips for making the best Creamsicle fudge.
The secret hack in making this easy fudge is using a container of frosting. However, when heating the frosting in your microwave be sure to remove the foil lid from the frosting first.
More helpful tips for you.
- When you prepare the baking dish for the fudge, be sure to line it with parchment paper that overhangs the edges of the pan. This will make it easier to remove the fudge for slicing.
- Spray your microwave safe bowl with a bit of nonstick before adding the frosting and white chips. This will make for both an easy transfer of ingredients as well as for an easier clean up
- While my fudge was made with orange flavoring and coloring, you can use another color or flavor. For example, you can use lemon extract and yellow food coloring for a lemon flavored fudge instead of orange.
- Before slicing your fudge into servings, make sure that is has fully cooled. If the fudge has not fully cooled it can crumble when you go to slice or even eat it.
How to store leftover fudge.
This fudge should be stored in an airtight container.
If properly stored, it should keep for about two weeks at room temperature or longer when frozen.
