- Line a square baking dish with foil that overhangs the sides of the baking dish. Then grease the foil.
- In a large microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate with the evaporated milk until creamy, stopping to stir every thirty seconds. Then stir in in the sugar alternative, butter and vanilla. Heat this for another 30 seconds (I place a paper towel over it to prevent a possible mess).
- Pour the melted and blended ingredients into your prepared baking dish. Then refrigerate until set.
- To cut the fudge into squares, simply lift it out of the baking dish using the overlapping foil.
- Make this on the stove using a double boiler method or on low heat stirring continuously.

Keto low carbohydrate followers can use heavy cream instead.

- Adding chopped nuts to your fudge can make the fudge even better. You can also sprinkle sugar free sprinkles on top to make your fudge even more pretty.
ย
How to store homemade fudge.
I like to keep my fudge wrapped in an airtight container.

BTW the cornstarch has so much sugar as a carb that it doesn't matter if you don`t put real sugar.Basicly everything has sugar( turn around the milk to see how much sugar does it have for 100ml). In the brown flour you have less sugars than the white, but the cornstarch is a sugar-killer! Make the difference between low-carb and sugar free.
SFD
Hi- While High-Fructose corn syrup would have sugar in it, basic corn starch does not. That is why it is important to read the labels. However, there are alternatives to corn starch such as arrowroot, potato starch, or tapioca. Whether or not the alternatives will work in this recipe, I cannot say because I have not tried them. thanks!

do you have to add the chocolate chips or are they optional? Asking because my local superstore does not carry sugar-free chocolate chips
SFD
Hi. You can find sugar free chocolate chips on Amazon. I have trouble finding them where I live as well.
Thanks!
Irene
I buy sugar free chocolate chips @ walmart. They carry the regular size bags (no large bags) it's okay because I make this for my husband (pre-diabetic). Likes the fudge as it's his one option for chocolate that he loves.
SFD
Hi. Yes- not all stores carry the chocolate chips. They can be hard to find locally in some places- such as where I live. I am so glad to hear that the fudge is a hit! ๐

Eek! Even though this is sugar free the Splenda is just as bad (or worse) than sugar. It doesn't have the calories but it does make your blood sugar spike. I would try this with Stevia
SFD
Hi.
I have found that there are varying opinions on which sugar alternative to use in a recipe. As a result, I have started to list "sugar alternative" rather than a specific alternative whenever I can. I personally try them all to see what works best for me and my recipe. Stevia is a popular choice it seems. Thanks!!

I don't use starches at all... I wonder if there's a way to do this without? Have you tried it before you hit on the final recipe? Also I'd probably use coconut milk or cream, because I am super low carb, but if I can find a way not to use the starch, Ima try it.
SFD
Hi. I have seen fudge recipes that use use coconut oil in them. I have not tried this however, most coconut oil is carb free. Also, I would eat it in moderation. Thanks!

When you say Splenda in this recipe, are you using Powder Splenda or Baking Blend Splenda?
SFD
It's the granular form. Thanks!
Ezziej Bromwich
I have not use any added sugar for over a year but I hope I was tired when I read use the same amount of substitute that one uses as called for in sugar...notta Use less than right? I mean 1 Cup of regular sugar is ยฝ cup of splenda. And I use both Splenda for baking and stevia. And most definitely use Coconut milk for the milk such as in pumpkin pie...Ummmmmmmmmm so delicious.
SFD
Hi. Not all sugar substitutes are the same. And since not everyone reading my recipes can agree on the substitute of choice for a recipe, I like to suggest that folks make their own choices. You really need to read the package on the substitute to get an idea of how much of that equivalent is equal to an amount of sugar. Some substitutes, such as Splenda granular, will usually be 1:1 sugar amounts in a recipe. However, not everyone is a fan. Thanks!
