What makes crockpot candy so good?

This recipe is all about ease as it is all about melting together the ingredients in a slow cooker.

Even better, this five ingredient recipe offers many variations to make it even better.

Did you try my recipe for Sugar Free 3 Musketeers (copycat)?

That copycat recipe is another easy candy recipe that is made with no added sugar. Both this recipe for crockpot candy and that recipe for no added sugar '3 Musketeers' are simple candy recipes that are made with no added sugar.

To make this recipe you will need sugar free white chocolate chips for melting. You can find a selection of sugar free white chocolate chips here.

Why we like this slow cooker candy recipe

We like that, like with most other slow cooker recipes, the prep work is as easy as placing the ingredients into your slow cooker and letting the slow cooker do the work. Being able to make this recipe without adding sugar makes this recipe even better!

We also like how to serve slow cooker candy .

    • Serve these candies as is with a glass of milk or cup of coffee on the side.
    • Scoop your candy dollops for setting in candy liners to serve at a party or gathering.
    • Place your candy in candy bags for gift giving.
    • Break up the hardened candy into chunks and add it to a bowl of Sugar Free Vanilla Ice Cream.

Ingredients needed to make easy crockpot candy with no added sugar.

    • Salted Peanuts. This is the salty crunchy element used in this recipe.
    • Unsalted Peanut. Added for more crunch but, without the added salt. Any nut can be substituted for the peanuts.
    • Sugar Free White Chocolate Chips. A sugar free cocoa melting wafer can be used.
    • Sugar Free Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips. Semi sweet chocolate chips work best in this recipe.
    • Lastly, an additional chip such as Salted Caramel, Butterscotch, or Peppermint chips. If you omit the additional chips, simply use chocolate chips to keep the ingredients in balance.

Expert Tip๐Ÿ‘‰ The ingredient amounts are intended for a seven quart slow cooker or larger slow cooker. If you are using a smaller slow cooker, feel free to cut the ingredients in half.

How to Make Sugar Free Crockpot Candy

    Prep Time:Prep Time: 10 minutes
    Cook Time: 1.5 hours
    Chill Time: 2.5 hours
Servings: 48 pieces, depending on the size of your dollops.

    1. Prepare your slow cooker by lightly spraying it with nonstick. I have not tried this recipe using a liner.
    2. Place all of the ingredients into your slow cooker. Some folks like to layer the ingredients so that the nuts are on the bottom and the chocolate(s) are on top so that the chocolate melts over the nuts.
    3. Cover your slow cooker and cook on low heat for an hour, scraping down the sides of the slow cooker and stirring the ingredients occasionally. After an hour of slow cooking, use a rubber spatula to stir the ingredients and then continue to cook covered for up to an additional half hour if needed for the chocolate to fully melted.
    4. Meanwhile, prepare a couple of rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper or wax paper.
    5. Use a tablespoon or small cookie scoop (depending on the size candy that you want) to scoop out the candy and place the scooped candy on to the baking sheets.
    6. Let the candy sit at room temperature to harden. You can transfer the candy to your refrigerator to speed the setting up after it has cooled to room temperature (20-30 minutes).

Expert Tip๐Ÿ‘‰ Placing the scooped candy on to candy liners to set can make it easier for serving the crockpot candy later at a gathering or event.

Tips for making the best slow cooker candy with no added sugar.

When selecting your sugar free white chocolate chips choose chips that have a high cocoa butter content. This will help the white chocolate melt evenly with the other ingredients.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. Sugar free semi sweet chocolate chips work best in this recipe. Dark chocolate chips can get too hard when set and milk-chocolate are a bit too soft for this recipe.
    2. The peanuts that are added to this recipe add a crunchy element to this recipe. If the size of the peanuts are too large for your liking, you can run them through a food processor or good blender on pulse to break them down a bit.
    3. If you find that your chocolate is a bit chunky when it is melting you can stir in up to a tablespoon of coconut oil or peanut butter. Adding peanut butter or coconut oil will also add a bit of additional flavor to your candy.

How to store crockpot candy without almond bark.

This no added sugar free crockpot candy should be stored in an airtight container or wrapped well. If properly stored it should keep for up to a few months when refrigerated or even longer when frozen.
