What makes Dark Chocolate Fudge so good?

    ย
Dark chocolate fudge is a more intense and rich fudge than other kinds of chocolate fudge.

I like how this dark chocolate fudge is more indulgent and about the flavor than other kinds of chocolate fudge.

Have you tried my recipe for Sugar Free Keto White Chocolate Fudge ?

That white fudge recipe is topped with chopped almonds is really delicious. Both this recipe for dark chocolate fudge and that recipe for white chocolate fudge would go nicely when served together.

To make this recipe you will need sugar free dark chocolate chips. You can find a selection of sugar free dark chocolate chips here.

What you need to make Dark Chocolate Fudge.

    ย

    • Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Chips and Sugar Free Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips. A combination of chips is used in order to make the fudge both more chocolate intense and a good texture for enjoying.
    • Unsweetened condensed milk. Full fat coconut milk can alternatively be used.
    • Vanilla Extract. You can use another flavored extract, such as maple extract, for a different flavor.
    • Sea Salt. The larger salt adds a perfect balance to the flavors in this fudge.

How to make Dark Chocolate Fudge

    ย

    1. Double prep a square baking dish (my fudge was made in a 9X9 dish) for nonstick. For a recipe like this one, I will first spray the dish with nonstick and then line it with wax or parchment paper that hangs over the sides of the pan.
    2. Place all of the chocolate chips (semi-sweet and dark) in a In a large microwave safe bowl and then cover the chips with the condensed milk.
    3. Microwave the chocolate chips and condensed milk on high for one minute and then carefully stir the ingredients.
    4. Continue microwaving the ingredients, stopping to stir every 15 seconds, until the chocolate chips have fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
    5. Once the ingredients in the bowl have been fully blended you can stir in the remaining ingredients (extract, salt, and optional nuts).
    6. Transfer the ingredients to your prepared baking dish and refrigerate until set (about two hours).
    7. Use the extending parchment paper to lift your fudge from the dish and slice into portions before enjoying.

Tips for making the best dark chocolate fudge.

While this is a dark chocolate fudge recipe, semi-sweet chocolate is also used in order to get a more 'fudge-like' texture. Feel free to swap out a quarter cup of the semi-sweet chips for additional dark chocolate chips if you want a more dark chocolate fudge.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. Sugar Free Condensed Milk is preferred in this recipe. However, you can alternatively use a full fat coconut milk instead.
    2. Sea salt is used in this recipe as it offers the perfect flavor balance in this fudge. Kosher salt is another option that could work in this recipe.
    3. This recipe can also be made on a stovetop. Simply melt the chocolate chips with the condensed milk over low heat stirring until melted and blended.
    4. For a softer fudge, add one to two tablespoons of butter to the bowl once the ingredients have been melted.
    5. My fudge was made in a 9x9 baking dish. For more servings you can use a larger baking dish or pan and for larger (bigger pieces) servings you can use a smaller dish or pan.
    6. Add a cup of chopped nuts, such as walnuts, for additional flavor and texture.
      ย

How to store homemade chocolate fudge.

This fudge should be stored in an airtight container with parchment paper or wax paper between layers. While you could store it at room temperature, I prefer to store mine refrigerated and then let it sit out for ten minutes or so before serving.
