Ingredients needed to make Lemon Crescent Rolls

    • Crescent Rolls. Select the refrigerated dough rather than rolls that have already been baked.
    • Cream Cheese. Your cream cheese should be softened to room temperature so that it can be blended with the other ingredients.
    • Sugar Alternative. Use a granular sugar alternative that can also be baked with and that measures like sugar.
    • Lemon Zest and Lemon Juice. Real lemon is used to make these tasty rolls.
    • For the glaze you will need sugar free powdered sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest.

Expert Tip๐Ÿ‘‰ To soften your cream cheese in a microwave, remove the packaging and place the cream cheese bar on a microwave safe plate. Microwave your cream cheese for 15 seconds.

    Prep time: 10 Minutes.
    Bake Time: 15 minutes.

    2. Carefully unroll the crescent roll on a clean and flat surface. Then separate the dough along the perforation marks into individual triangles.
    3. In a mixing bowl, beat your cream cheese to soften it up. Then add the sugar alternative, lemon juice, and lemon zest and beat until the mixture is creamy.
    4. Use a medium scoop to distribute the filling along the wide side of each triangle to about ยผ" from the edge.
    5. To roll the crescent rolls back up, start at the wide end and roll the triangles up, tucking in the corners at the end. Place the rolls about one and a half to two inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
    6. Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes or until they appear to to turn golden brown. Then carefully remove the rolls from the oven let them sit on the baking sheet for a minute before transferring them to a wire cooling rack to fully cool.
    7. To make the glaze, simply use a whisk to combine the ingredients together. When the rolls have fully cooled you can drizzle the glaze over them and serve once the glaze has become hard.

Expert Tip ๐Ÿ‘‰ If your glaze seems to be too thin you can whisk in a small amount of additional sugar free powdered sugar. To thin the glaze out whisk in a small amount of water or milk.

Sugar Free Lemon Cheesecake Crescent Rolls, a quick and easy breakfast or brunch recipe made with refrigerated dough in less than 30 minutes.

Tips for making the best cheesecake crescent rolls.

Store bought refrigerated crescent rolls were used to make my rolls. You can alternatively use biscuit dough that has been rolled out or dough from a sheet, making adjustments as needed in baking.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. The creamy filling is made using cream cheese as a base. Using a full fat cream cheese will make the filling more lush and flavorful.
    2. While lemon is what was used to make my rolls, you can try using another citrus fruit. I like the idea of making these with lime instead of lemon.
    3. The glaze topping is optional but, a really nice addition to these rolls. You should however wait for the rolls to cool before drizzling the glaze so that the glaze can harden in place.

    How to store cheesecake rolls.

Once the rolls have fully cooled, they should be stored in an airtight container. When properly stored and refrigerated, these roll should keep for up to a few days. I have not tried freezing these rolls.
