This recipe for pumpkin bread is made without sugar and is also friendly to keto low carb diets.
This recipe calls for using low carb all purpose flour. You can find a good variety of low carb all purpose flour here.
You may be wondering is pumpkin keto friendly.
Let me first start by telling you that this recipe calls for pumpkin puree and not pumpkin pie filling.
Both of these products come in a can and look alike however, pumpkin pie filling has other ingredients added to it such as sugar.
Make sure that you are using a pumpkin puree that contains just pumpkin.
The amount of pumpkin puree that you will need for this recipe is ¾ cup. That nets out to around 12 carbohydrates for the entire loaf of bread (ie. 12 slices of bread will have 1 net carb from pumpkin in it.).
Make this a gluten free sugar free pumpkin bread.
Many low carbohydrate breads are made with almond flour.
Using almond flour can also make the bread gluten free, depending on the other ingredients added.
You can easily use a gluten free flour to make this bread.
I suggest that you use a gluten free low carbohydrate all purpose flour. If you choose to use a gluten free flour, please check to see if there is a binder already added or if you need to add one.
Here are some tips for making this recipe for sugar free pumpkin bread.
This recipe calls for using a loaf pan for baking the bread in. Greasing the loaf pan well and dusting it with flour afterwards is recommended to keep your bread from sticking to the pan.

- It is essential that you us fresh ingredients to make this recipe. Using an outdated ingredient such as baking powder or baking soda can affect the quality of your baked bread.
- Do not overmix your ingredients when you are mixing everything together. Mix the ingredients until just blended instead.
- Top your bread to make it even nicer looking. Add pumpkin seeds, chocolate chips, or even flaked coconut.
How to freeze pumpkin bread.
This bread can easily be frozen in a freezer storage bag. To do so, slice the bread and place it into the bag. When you are ready to serve it your can remove the bread from the bag and microwave it for about 45 seconds before serving.

How to make homemade pumpkin pie spice.
If you are like me and you enjoy baking this time of the year, pumpkin pie spice may be something that you use a lot. Surprisingly, it is easy to make your own pumpkin pie spice (that you can also personalize to your liking!).
In a mixing bowl whisk together the following ingredients;
- Ground Cinnamon- 1 tablespoon.
- Also, Ground Ginger- 1 teaspoon.
- Nutmeg- 1 teaspoon.
- Ground Cloves- 1 teaspoon.
- Optional- Allspice- 1 teaspoon.
Ingredients needed to make this keto pumpkin bread recipe.
- Low Carb All Purpose Flour- 1 ½ cups. Please use a flour that measures 1:1 with regular all purpose flour for best results. If you are using a gluten free version, please check to see if you will need to add a binder.
- Pumpkin Pie spice- 1 tablespoon.
- Baking Soda- 1 teaspoon.
- Baking Powder- ½ teaspoon.
- Salt- ½ teaspoon.
- Eggs- 4. Please make sure that your eggs are at room temperature.
- Sugar Alternative- ¾ cup. Please use a granular sugar alternative that measures 1:1 with sugar and that can also be baked with.
- Brown Sugar Alternative- ⅓ cup. Please use a granular brown sugar alternative that measures 1:1 with brown sugar for best results.
- Vanilla Extract- ½ teaspoon.
- Pumpkin Puree- ¾ cup.
- Vegetable Oil- ¾ cup.
How to make this recipe for sugar free and keto pumpkin bread.
- Preheat your oven to 350 and double prep a loaf pan for nonstick (grease and dust with flour).
- In a medium mixing bowl, use a whisk to blend together the low carb flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set this bowl aside.
- Next, in a large mixing bowl, beat together the eggs, sugar alternative and brown sugar alternative until combined. The beat in the vanilla extract, pumpkin puree, and vegetable oil until combined. Then mix in the dry ingredients from the first bowl until smooth, do not overmix. If all of the dry ingredients are not incorporated into the mix, you can use a spatula to fold in it by hand.
- Transfer the mixture to your prepped loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes or until skewer inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove the bread from oven and let it cool in pan for a minimum of 30 minutes.
Remove the bread from the pan and place on a wire rack to continue cooling
