This is a simple recipe for cookies that have no added sugar.
Green food coloring and peppermint flavored food extract are used to make these cookies even better.
To make these cookies, we will first make a basic sugar free sugar cookie dough.
While making the cookie dough we will add the extra ingredients just mentioned.
Then we will bake the cookies before enjoying them.
Ingredients needed to make Sugar Free Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies.
- Flour. I have not tried this recipe using an alternative flour such as a low carb flour.
- Baking Soda. For leavening.
- Salt. Just a small amount is used. If you are using salted butter you can omit the salt.
- Butter. Your butter should be softened to room temperature.
- Sugar Alternative. Use a granular sugar alternative that measures like sugar and that can be baked with.
- Eggs. Your eggs should be at room temperature.
- Peppermint Food Extract. Feel free to use another extract if desired.
- Sugar Free Chocolate Chips. Semi-sweet chocolate chips work best in this recipe as they are softer.
Expert tip 👉 To soften your butter simply allow it to sit out at room temperature for about a half hour.
How to make Sugar Free Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20-24 minutes
Yield: 36 cookies
- Preheat your oven to 325 and prep two baking sheets for nonstick.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda and salt.
- Next, in a mixing bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until creamy. Then mix in the eggs, food coloring, and peppermint extract.
- Add the dry ingredients from the first bowl to the ingredients in the mixing bowl and mix until combined. Then fold in the chocolate chips.
- Use a one tablespoon cookie scoop to drop the cookies onto the sheets about two inches apart.
- Bake the cookie for 12-14 minutes or until the edges begin to brown. Then let the cookies sit on the baking sheets for about a minute before transferring them to a cooling rack to finish cooling.
Expert tip 👉 Press additional chocolate chips into the tops of the cookies before baking. This will make them look and taste even better!
