What Makes Alfredo Sauce So Good?

    ย
Alfredo sauce is a rich and creamy sauce that is also decadent and easy to make.

I like how this sauce is comforting and simple.

That pasta recipe is not difficult to make and it is also low in carbohydrates.
Both this alfredo sauce recipe and that pasta recipe would go nice together as a meal.

While I have provided you with a low carb pasta recipe you can also use a low carb pasta that is already made. You can find a variety of low carbohydrate pastas here.

How to make Easy Low Carb Alfredo Sauce

    1. Heat. In a medium saucepan on medium heat, melt the butter. If you are adding the optional minced garlic, you can add it to the butter as well.
    2. Combine. Once the butter has melted, stir in the heavy cream and the seasoning and incorporate. Whisk or stir to prevent the sauce from burning.
    3. Cheese. Cook the butter and heavy cream, sitting or whisking, for about four minutes. Stir in half of the parmesan cheese (1 ยฝ cups) and when that has partly melted into the mixture you can add the remaining cheese. Continue to whisk or stir until the cheese has completely melted. If your sauce seems too thick for your needs, you can thin it out with pasta water or broth.

Tips for making the best alfredo sauce.

This Alfredo sauce tastes like a delicious rich and full white sauce full of flavor.
Feel free to omit the garlic if you are okay with the sauce as it is.

    More tips for you.

    1. Adding chopped pieces of bacon can take this sauce up a notch. Make sure that you are using already cooked bacon or bacon bits.
    2. This recipe calls for heavy cream. I would not substitute anything that is thinner in texture as doing so will make your sauce thin.
    3. Grated cheese works best in this recipe rather than shredded or chunks. This is because grated cheese is the perfect size for blending into a thick sauce when the ingredients are heated together.

    How to store alfredo sauce.

Once it has fully cooled, alfredo sauce should be stored in an airtight container such as a clean jar. When properly stored, alfredo sauce should keep for up to a week in a refrigerator or up to a few months when frozen (I use a zip top freezer bag).
