Equipment Needed
- Bowl
- Mixer
- Spoon
- Spatula
- Measuring spoons and cups
Ingredients needed to make this recipe.
- Butter. Use stick butter (rather than tub version) that is softened to room temperature. Unsalted stick butter is preferred as we will add salt to the mixing bowl.
- Honey. Use sugar free honey to keep this recipe sugar free. For a more authentic spread you can use real honey or you can use a mix of the two for a lower sugar version.
- Ground Cinnamon. You can use pumpkin pie spice for a festive fall flair.
- Vanilla Extract. This is added for a bit of flavor balance so that we can enjoy both the buttery and the sweet flavors in the butter.
- Kosher Salt. A large salt that works really well in this recipe.
- Sugar Free Powdered Sugar. Using a powdered sweetener helps to make this butter more 'fluffy' and spreadable.
Expert Tip 👉 While you could use maple syrup to make this recipe, keep in mind that maple syrup is sweeter and measures differently than honey. This means less syrup than honey is needed. You may need to adjust your other ingredients to compensate for this.
Tips for making the best copycat Roadhouse butter.
Use a full fat butter in stick form that has been allowed to soften to room temperature. Using a spread, tubbed spread, or anything not butter will not taste as good or spread as well.
- Yes, this recipe can be made vegan by using a vegan butter alternative. While it will not taste as buttery, as long as it can spread, it should be okay.
- Feel free to omit the vanilla extract or use a different extract instead. I like the idea of maple extract in this recipe.
- This butter does not have to be used just as a spread. Try using it on your popcorn, in your cookie dough, or in your homemade muffins.
- Adjust the sweetness of your butter spread by adding additional honey or sugar alternative.
- Make this more spreadable by adding extra butter or mix in up to a tablespoon of a buttery spread.
- Share this butter by placing some in a small mason jar and giving it to a friend, neighbor, or relative.
