There may also be some sugar or sugar alternative too.
This recipe is for a frozen fruit pop.
Technically, the only sugar that is in this recipe comes from the fruit itself.
We are using strawberries and blueberries, both of which are keto diet friendly because they are low in natural sugar.
Here are some tips for making this red, white and blue popsicle.
This is a recipe that needs to be made in three stages as each stage calls for freezing time which will result in the layers. It is important that you allow the layers to freeze properly in order to keep them separate.
Here are some more helpful tips for you.
- This recipe can also be made using frozen berries. My suggestion for this is to use berries that have no added sugar in them (read the label on the packaging!).
- Feel freeze to add your layers differently than I have or to omit a layer. Using alternative fruit, such as raspberries, is also something that you can do.
- The easiest way to make these frozen pops is to use popsicle molds. You can find a nice selection of frozen popsicle molds here.
How to store homemade frozen popsicles.
Once the popsicles have frozen to their molds, you can transfer them for longer storage.
I like using a plastic wrap to wrap each frozen pop individually. They should keep for up to a couple of months if frozen and wrapped.

The recipe for healthier Patriotic Fruit Popsicles
This recipe calls for vegan heavy whipping cream.
I use coconut cream for this when I want something to be vegan.
Non vegan folks can use an alternative to the vegan heavy whipping cream.
Obviously, you can use heavy whipping cream that is not vegan.
Other alternatives that could work in this recipe include Greek Yogurt and whipping cream ( however, with less fat).
Ingredients needed to make these patriotic popsicles.
- Blueberries- ½ cup. The blueberries should be rinsed.
- Stevia- 3 tablespoons. This can be adjusted to your tastes. Also, you can opt to omit the stevia or use another sugar alternative. This will be divided.
- Water- ½ cup. This will be divided.
- Strawberries- 1 ½ cups. The strawberries should be rinsed and the stems should be removed.
- Vegan heavy whipping cream- ¾ cup. I mentioned above that non-vegans can use nonfat Greek Yogurt, heavy whipping cream, or a similar alternative.
How to make Patriotic Popsicles
- You can use a food processor or blender to make this recipe. The recipe will be made in three stages- one for each fruit and one for the cream layer. Prepare your popsicle molds as needed for use (wash them etc).
- Place your rinsed blueberries into the blender or processor along with one tablespoon of stevia and ¼ cup of water. Puree the ingredients until they are blended into a liquid. Then transfer the liquid into the prepared popsicle molds. Insert the popsicle sticks and freeze until firm (about three hours).
- You can now repeat this process with the strawberries by processing them with ¼ cup of water and one tablespoon of the stevia. Pour this into the molds to make the second layer and freeze until firm.
- For the final layer, whisk together the remaining ingredients (whipping cream and remaining stevia) and transfer it to the popsicle molds for the white and final layer. And thus until solid and then enjoy them!.
