This is a simple brownie recipe that is especially friendly to keto and low carbohydrate diets.
Using almond flour instead of regular all purpose flour makes this recipe gluten free and low in carbohydrates.

Did you try my Sugar Free Keto Almond Butter Cookies?

That is a three ingredient cookie recipe that features the great taste of almond butter.
If you are a fan of the flavor of almonds, like I am, then you will probably like both this recipe for brownies and that recipe for cookies!

To make this brownie recipe, you will need almond flour. You can find a selection of almond flour here.

You may be wondering what is keto brownie made of.

This keto brownie has a simple ingredient list that is also keto low carbohydrate friendly.
Many of these ingredients are substitutes for regular ingredients that are not keto diet friendly rather than being keto in any brownie recipe.

To make this recipe, we are using almond flour.

Almond flour is a keto, low carbohydrate alternative to regular flour.
In this recipe, the almond flour contributes about three grams of carbs while flour would contribute about 180 net carbs.

You may be wondering is almond flour healthier than regular flour.

Almond flour is friendly to the keto diet because it is simply ground up nuts (almonds).
This means that it is low in carbohydrate as well as a source for protein, fat, and flavor.

Almond flour is also gluten free.

Gluten is the protein found in all purpose flour that is responsible for the ability of the flour to bind with the other ingredients. Folks who react to the gluten, gluten intolerant, use almond flour as a replacement for the all purpose flour.

Here are some tips for making almond flour brownies.

Make sure that you are using a blanched almond flour rather than almond meal. This is for best results when it comes to the texture of the brownies.

    More tips for you.

    1. Adding a teaspoon of espresso is one way to enhance the flavor of these brownies. There is something about espresso and chocolate that can really amp up the flavor in a recipe such as this one.
    2. Feel free to add some nut to the batter or topping of these brownies. Adding chopped nuts can give additional flavor and crunch to this recipe.
    3. This recipe does not use baking powder or baking soda. If you are wanting a brownie that is somewhat cake-like, feel free to add ½ to one teaspoon of Baking Powder.

How to store keto low carbohydrate brownies.

These brownies should be stored in an airtight container and if cut, stored with parchment paper separating the pieces. They should keep for a couple of days at room temperature if stored correctly or for up to six months in the freezer (defrost before serving).
