This No Sugar Added Apple Cake is more like a coffee cake.
It is also an easy cake to make.
No Sugar Added Apple Cake
I could easily call this cake a 'sugar free' cake.
However, since the average apple has about 19 grams of sugar in it, this cake is not without sugar. But, the sugar that is in this cake, is a natural sugar.
I am always looking for recipes this time of the year that incorporate apples.
We live near an apple orchard which we visit quit often. Hence, we have a lot of apples in our house.
This cake is based upon a popular baking mix cake.
We will be using a low carb baking mix as an alternative. You can find Carbquik low carb baking mix online.

The recipe for No Sugar Added Apple Cake
What you will need to make this No Sugar Added Apple Cake.
- Vanilla Extract- 1 teaspoon.
- Ground Cinnamon- 1 teaspoon.
- Apples- 3 (about 2 cups) peeled and cubes. Suggested apples include Granny Smith, Golden, Honeycrisp etc. I like to combine two kinds for a special taste.
- Chopped Nuts- ¼ cup. Suggested would be walnuts.
- Liquid- ⅔ cup. Can use milk, water, cream or a combination.
- Oil- 2 tablespoons (vegetable or similar) can sub in melted butter.
- Eggs-2.
- Sugar Alternative- equivalent to 3 ½ tablespoons of sugar. Granular works best.
- Carbquik low carb baking.- 2 cups
How to make No Sugar Added Apple Cake
- Preheat your oven to 325 and prep a pan for nonstick (bundt, 9", or similar pan).
- In a medium bow, mix together your apples, nuts, cinnamon, and vanilla. Set this bowl aside.
- In another bowl, beat together the liquid, oil, and the eggs. Set this aside. This is referred to as our 'wet bowl' in this recipe.
- Now in a mixing bowl, combine together the sugar alternative and the Carbquick. You can sift this or use the method of your choice.
- Slowly pour half of the contents from the wet (2nd) bowl into the dry ingredient mixing bowl. Mix this (I use a paddle attachment and medium low setting) for about 10 seconds and then add the remainder of the wet ingredient bowl into the dry mixing bowl.
- Now, fold in the contents from the first bowl (apples etc) into the mixing bowl by hand.
- Bake this for an hour or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- You can top this with a drizzled sugar free glaze, such as this one or sugar free powdered sugar using this recipe.
