    ย Cookie.

    • Flour. All purpose flour works best in this recipe. Rolled oats can be substituted for part of the flour if desired.

    • Ground Cinnamon. This is for that tasty cinnamon flavor.
    • Butter. The butter should be softened to room temperature.
    • Brown Sugar Alternative. Please use one that measures like regular brown sugar and that can also be baked with.
    • Egg. The egg should be at room temperature.
    • Apple. The apple should be chopped or diced into pieces. It is best to use an apple with a nice flavor and that can hold up to baking such as Jonagold, Granny Smith , or Gala apples.

    Glaze.ย

    • Sugar Free Powdered Sugar.

Tips for making the best cookies with apples.

This recipe works best using more of a tart apple that can be baked with. Granny Smith, Pink Ladies, Jonathan, Fuji, and Gala apples are also good choices.

Here are some more helpful tips for you.

    1. My cookies were made using all purpose flour. Oatmeal can be substituted for part of the flour for a more chewy cookie.
    2. While these cookie are made using apples, there are other fruits that can work in this recipe. Pears are a good choice.
    3. Adding the glaze while the cookies are still warm can help the glaze spread better over the cookies. You can also top this with chopped nuts.
