    • Butter. Browned and then cooled to room temperature (directions below). If you are using unsalted butter, you can add a half teaspoon of salt to the flour.
    • Flour. All purpose flour was used to make my bread. If you decide to use an alternative all purpose flour, like gluten free all purpose flour, make sure that it measures and bakes like all purpose flour for best results.
    • Baking Soda. This is the leavening agent used to make the bread rise.
    • Ground Cinnamon . Adds a nice flavor to this bread.
    • Brown Sugar Alternative. for best results, select a granular brown sugar alternative that can be baked with and that measures and bakes like regular brown sugar
    • Bananas. Your bananas should be mashed.
    • Eggs. Your eggs should be at room temperature for optimal blending.
    • Vanilla Extract. Used for flavor balance.
    • Greek Yogurt. Added for leavening, moisture, and flavor. Use plain Greek Yogurt.
    • Sugar Free Chocolate Chips. Use no added sugar chocolate chips that are suitable for baking with.

    Tips for making the best banana bread with chocolate chips.

    For best results, use bananas that are very ripe rather than fresh. The more ripe the bananas are the easier it will be to mash them smoothly so that they will blend with the ingredients more successfully.

    1. The easiest way to mash a soft banana is to use a potato masher.
    2. To brown your butter, melt it over medium heat, whisking constantly, until it turns a dark amber color. Then let the browned butter cool for 10 minutes.
    3. When adding your chocolate chips to the mixing bowl, it is best to gently fold them in rather than stirring them in. This will help keep the structure of the batter while evenly distributing your chips.
    4. Prep your loaf pan well for baking to help keep your bread from sticking to the pan. I like to grease or spray my pan and then dust it with a bit of flour.
    5. When baking your bread check on it frequently while it is baking. Pulling the banana bread out of the oven too soon can cause the center to be soft or gooey as the bananas need to fully bake.
    6. Lastly, allow the bread cool before slicing and serving it. Doing so will help to prevent the bread from crumbling when you do slice it.

    How to make Sugar Free Chocolate Chip Banana Bread.

    Prep Time: 25 minutes .
    Bake Time: 50 minutes .
    Servings: 10, 1 loaf .

    1. Prepare. Preheat you oven to 350 and prep a loaf pan well for nonstick
      If you have not done so, brown your butter (see tips) and then let it cool while you make the bread batter.
    2. Dry Ingredients. In a medium bowl, use a whisk to combine together the flour, baking soda, and cinnamon.
    3. Batter. Using a whisk attachment, beat together your browned butter and brown sugar alternative until well combined (about two minutes). Then beat in the mashed banana.
    4. Dairy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and switch out the whisk attachment for a paddle attachment. Add the eggs, Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract to the bowl and mix until combined.
    5. Combine. Scrape down the sides of the bowl once again and then add the dry ingredients from the first bowl to the mixing bowl. Mix the ingredients until just combined.
    6. Chocolate Chips. Use a rubber spatula or similar item to fold in the chocolate chips.
    7. Bake. Evenly distribute the batter in your loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes or until it turns golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean (without bread crumbs) when inserted into the center .
    8. Cool. Let the bread sit at room temperature in the pan for 10 minutes. Then run a butter knife around the edges for the pan to loosen the bread before transferring it to a wire cooling rack to finish cooling.

    Expert Tip๐Ÿ‘‰ If your banana bread is browning too quickly before it is baked through in the center, cover it lightly with a piece of aluminium foil (like a tent).
