Warm chocolate waffles with no added sugar.

This is a simple recipe that can be made in a basic waffle iron.

I like how tasty these waffles are without all of the usual sugar added to them.

Did you try my Keto Low Carb Jalapeno Bacon Chaffles?

Those chaffles are a nice flourless waffle that packs a ton of flavor. Both this chocolate waffle and that chaffle recipe are easy low carbohydrate breakfast or brunch options.

Serve your tasty chocolate waffles with sugar free syrup on top. You can find a selection of sugar free syrups here.

    Frequently asked questions about waffles.

Is there a lot of sugar in waffles?

Most waffles are made with sugar.
In addition to the sugar added to the batter, waffles are often topped with sugar containing items such as syrup.

The waffles in this recipe do not have added sugar.
Instead, you are able to use a sugar alternative instead in order to get a better taste in your waffles.

What is the difference between a sugar free waffle and a keto low carb waffle?

When a waffle is sugar free, it simple has no added sugar in it.
It may however, still have carbohydrates as the waffle may be made with all purpose flour.

Low carbohydrate waffles on the other hand, or usually made with a flour alternative such as almond flour. In addition, the keto friendly waffles may have cheese and additional egg(s) added.

    Tips for making chocolate waffles.

When combining your ingredients, mix until just combined . Over-mixing the batter can ruin the texture (a few lumps are okay).

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. Give your waffles an extra burst of flavor. Simply substitute a quarter cup of cold coffee for a quarter cup of the milk.
    2. Add sugar free chocolate chips to your waffles if you want more chocolate. The chocolate chips will warm up into something soft and wonderful in every bite!
    3. Working in batches can mean older waffles getting cold. You can keep the waffles warm in an oven set to 250 for up to a half hour. Place the waffles on a parchment paper lined baking sheet so that they do not overlap.

    How to store leftover waffles

Store any leftover waffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days.

These waffles should be stored in an airtight container separated with parchment paper. If properly stores, they should keep refrigerated for up to a few days or frozen for a few months.
