About this recipe for Everything But the Sink brownies.

This is a simple recipe for brownies that have 'add in' ingredients to make them taste even better.

I love that these brownies have a sweet and salty taste with a crunchy and fudgy texture.

Did you try my recipe for Sugar Free Chocolate Filled Brownie Bites

Those bite-sized brownie cups are filled with cream chocolate ganache that ooze with flavor in every bite.
Both this recipe for kitchen sink brownies and that recipe for brownie bites are delicious chocolatey desserts that are made with no added sugar.

To make this recipe you will need sugar free or keto candied nuts. You can find a selection of keto candy coated nuts here.

    What are kitchen sink brownies?

What does 'kitchen sink' mean when it comes to desserts?

'Kitchen sink' is a description that is often used to describe a dessert that has a lot of ingredients added to it. Many of those added ingredients may be unusual for a a common recipe for that specific dessert.

When a recipe is called 'kitchen sink' that is a play on the phrase 'everything but the kitchen sink'. That is, the perception of the recipe is that there are a lot of different kinds of ingredients in it.

With a baked good recipe, 'everything' refers to the many ingredients added to the recipe beyond the usual or predictable ingredients. These ingredients will usually be a balance of one another, such as salty versus sweet or crunchy versus soft.

Here are some tips for making kitchen sink brownies with no added sugar.

You can make this recipe even easier by using a sugar free brownie mix and adding the add in to that. Keto low carbohydrate diet folks can use a keto brownie mix to make this recipe with.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. I use Parchment Paper that overhangs the sides of my brownie baking pan. This allows me to easily remove the brownies from the pan (less mess!!) for cutting.
    2. For a more 'cake-like' brownie, omit the chocolate chips and bake your brownies for a longer time. Then allow them to cool in the pan. Even better, you can place the chocolate chips on top of the warm brownies and allow them to melt! YUM!
    3. Use fresh ingredients in your brownies batter. This is essential especially with your dry ingredients as expired ingredients can, and most likely will, affect your brownies results ๐Ÿ™ .
    4. When mixing your ingredients, mix them until just combined. Also, the add in work best when they are folded in rather than stirred or beaten in.

How to store these everything brownies.

Once these brownies have fully cooled they should be stored in an airtight container or wrapped well. If properly stored, these brownies should keep for up to three days at room temperature or up to a few months when frozen. Note that refrigerating these brownies can affect the texture.

What ingredients can be added to kitchen sink brownies?

You can use the ingredients that I have listed, add your own, or do both. When it comes to selecting ingredients to add, select a variety of flavors and textures in order to keep the recipe more interesting.

Common ingredients added to kitchen sink recipes include:

    • Dried fruit such as raisins, cranberries, or cherries.)
    • Sugar Free Marshmallows.
    • Espresso powder or instant coffee.
    • Sea salt flakes or pink salt.
    • Crushed or chopped sugar free cookies.
    • Chopped candy.

How to serve No Added Sugar Kitchen Sink Brownies.

    • Serve these brownie warm with a glass of milk or almond milk on the side.
    • Add a dollop of Sugar Free Whipped Cream on top of these brownies.
    • Place a scoop of Sugar Free Vanilla Ice Cream on the side for a decadent dessert.

Ingredients needed to make Kitchen Sink Brownies with no added sugar.

    • Flour. You can find keto all purpose flour here or gluten free all purpose flour here.
    • Baking Powder. Added for leveaning.
    • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder. Make sure that you are using a product that has no added ingredients such as sugar.
    • Brown Sugar Alternative and Granulated Sugar Alternative. When selecting sugar alternatives, use alternatives that measure 1:1 with sugar and that can also be baked with.
    • Butter. Your butter should be melted. If you are using unsalted butter you can add a half teaspoon of salt to the flour.
    • Eggs. The eggs should be at room temperature.
    • Vanilla Extract. Added for flavor balance.
    • Milk. This is added for moisture and richness. You can alternatively use half and half, heavy cream, or a vegan milk.
    • Add ins used in my brownies- sugar free chocolate chips, chopped pretzels, and chopped keto candy coated nuts

Expert Tip๐Ÿ‘‰ If you are using an all purpose flour alternative, for best results, use one that measures like actual all purpose flour and also take into consideration any binders that may need to be added to the recipe (see packaging for details).

How to make "Sugar Free Kitchen Sink Brownies

    Serving : 9 servings
    Prep time: 10 minutes
    Cook time: 30 minutes

    1. Preheat your oven to 325 and prep a square pan for nonstick. I use Parchment Paper that overhangs the sides of the pan.
    2. In a medium mixing bowl, use a fork or whisk to mix together your flour, baking powder and unsweetened cocoa powder.
    3. Next, in a large mixing bowl, mix together your sugar alternatives with the melted butter until smooth. Then stir in the milk along with the eggs.
    4. For the next step, we will add the dry ingredients from the first bowl to the wet ingredients in the second bowl. Mix until just combined.
    5. Gently fold in the add in ingredients and the transfer the brownie batter to your prepared baking pan.
    6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the brownies appear set in the center. Using the toothpick method of checking for readiness will possibly result in a false positive because of the melting chocolate chips. Allow your brownies to to cool prior to cutting into squares.

    ย
Expert Tip๐Ÿ‘‰ Allow these kitchen sink brownies to cool completely before storing them. This will help prevent condensation from forming, which can make the brownies soggy.
