You may be wondering how do you bake the best cupcake.
Sometimes, the perfect tasting cupcake result may seem to be pure luck.
However, there are ways to make your chances of 'pure luck' even better.
I tell everyone that the best way to get quality results is to use quality ingredients.
Use fresh ingredients especially when it comes to your dry ingredients including leavening agents. Also, dairy ingredients should be at room temperature for best results.
Here are some tips if you are asking how do I bake the perfect cupcake.
I just mentioned the importance of using fresh ingredients. Also, mentioned was that dairy ingredients should be at room temperature before adding them to the mixing bowl.
Here are some more helpful tips.
- While I am providing you with a buttercream frosting recipe that is intended to reflect the inspired version, I do have some great sugar free frosting recipes. You can find sugar free and keto friendly frosting recipes here.
- Resist the urge to fill the baking cups more than ¾ full. Doing so can cause your cupcakes to bake over the edges of the cups and onto the pan, a pain to clean up.
- Also, please be careful to not overmix your cupcakes as overmixing will cause the gluten to overreact making your cupcakes tough among other problems that can ruin your cupcakes.
- Make your cupcakes more impressive by using an extra large cupcake pan or extra small or mini cupcake pan. Please note that you may need to adjust your baking times in doing so.
How to make sugar free butter cream frosting.
For the pink sugar free frosting that is used in this recipe you will need:
- Butter- 1 stick (½ cup) at room temperature. Unsalted is preferred.
- Vanilla Extract- 1 teaspoon.
- Sugar Free Powdered Sugar- 2 cups.
- Whole Milk- 2-3 tablespoons or as needed.
- Pink Gel Food Coloring.
How to make the frosting.
In a mixing bowl, cream the butter at a medium speed (it should take about three to four minutes to get the butter fluffy enough for frosting). Then beat in the vanilla.
At a low speed, mix in one cup of the powdered sugar. Then turn off the mixer and scrape down the bowl and mix in the remaining sugar alternative and a tablespoon at a time of the milk until creamy (up to a couple of minutes) and then stir in the coloring.
How to store cupcakes.
Allow the cupcakes to fully cool before frosting them or storing them in an airtight cupcake container. These cupcakes should keep for a couple of days at room temperature.

How to make cake flour from all purpose flour.
Take one cup of all purpose flour, spooned and leveled and then remove two tablespoons and set it aside. Sift together the remaining flour with two tablespoons of cornstarch twice before using. I have not tried this but, keto low carb folks can try using carbalose flour.

- Turn off the mixer and scrape down the sides then add the egg whites and mix for 15 seconds on medium.
- For the next step, we will add half of the dry ingredients from the first bowl along with half of the ingredients from the measuring cup to the large mixing bowl. Mix this on low for 10 seconds. Stop the mixer and scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl. Add the remaining dry ingredients and continue to mix until just incorporated (about five to 10 seconds). Do not overmix.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to fully cool before frosting.
