What you will read about in this recipe.
What makes Red Velvet Brownies so good?
ย
Red velvet brownies are dense, mildy tangy, and ย red, thanks to the food coloring, unsweetened cocoa powder, and vinegar that are added to them.
I like that the red color in these brownies makes them especially popular during certain holidays such as Valentines day.

How to make Red Velvet Brownies with no sugar.
- Preheat the oven to 325. Line a square baking pan (8x8 or 9x9 inch pan) with parchment paper that overhangs the pan slightly. I suggest that you pretreat or butter the parchment paper as well.
- In a medium bowl, use a whisk to mix together the flour, baking powder and unsweetened cocoa powder. Set this bowl aside.
- In a mixing bowl, mix or beat together the butter with the sugar alternative. Then add the eggs one at a time, stirring gently between additions before stirring in the vanilla and the vinegar.
- For the next step we will add the dry ingredients from the first bowl (flour etc.) to the mixing bowl. Do this by adding half of the dry ingredients first, gently stir and then add the rest. Mix the ingredients until just incorporated. Then stir in the food coloring using one to two teaspoons as needed.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the brownies to cool for ten minutes before using the overhanging parchment paper to lift it out of the pan.
- Serve with cream cheese frosting as desired when cooled.

- No-taste red food coloring is used in this recipe. This is because regular liquid or gel food coloring can leave a bitter taste when used in large quantities.
- Like with most anything that is made in the kitchen and is also red, there is always a chance of staining. I know this from experience :). I suggest wearing an apron or clothes that you do not mind getting red food coloring on just in case there is a spill or a splatter.
- My cupcakes are topped with sprinkles. You can find sugar free sprinkles here.
How to store red velvet brownies.
These brownies should be stored in an airtight container.
I prefer to refrigerate my although, they can probably be frozen too.
