Prep time: 10 minutes.
Cook time: 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 325 and prepare a square baking pan for nonstick. I like to use parchment paper that overhangs the edges of the baking pan for a recipe such as this one.
- Place the dry cake mix into a mixing bowl and use a whisk to break up any clumps.
- Add the oil and the eggs to the mixing bowl and mix until just combined.
- Use a rubber spatula to fold in the chocolate chips.
- Transfer the brownie batter to your prepare baking pan and top with optional ingredients such as additional chocolate chips or nuts as desired.
- Bake the brownies for 25-30 minutes or until the edges appear to be set. Note that the center of the brownies may seem soft and a toothpick test may return a false negative at this time.
- Let the brownies cool in the baking pan for about 15 minutes before removing the brownies from the pan.
Expert Tip👉 Baking times can vary if you are using a glass baking dish or a baking pan that is a size other than 8X8".
