This is really a simple recipe that takes only five ingredients to make.

I like how the dark chocolate chips add a more intense chocolate flavor to this recipe.

Did you try my recipe for Sugar Free Keto White Chocolate Fudge ?

That white fudge recipe is topped with chopped almonds is really delicious. Both this recipe for dark chocolate fudge and that recipe for white chocolate fudge would go nicely when served together.

To make this recipe you will need sugar free dark chocolate chips. You can find a selection of sugar free dark chocolate chips here.

Questions often asked about chocolate fudge.

    What is fudge?

Fudge is technically considered to be a confection as it is commonly and traditionally made with ingredients such as sugar, dairy products (cream, butter, etc.) and chocolate using a stove top method. This traditional fudge recipe is over a hundred years old.

These days there are many variations on the traditional recipe for fudge, including this recipe made with no added sugar. However, in the end, fudge is a dense confection that can be chocolate flavored and is often enjoyed in individual square shaped servings.

What is the secret to making good fudge?

The biggest secret to making good fudge is to use fresh ingredients and following the recipe as stated. If the fudge is made using a process of heating the ingredients, the correct temperature should be used in order to make sure that the ingredients are best blended together.

Most folks can agree that the perfect fudge is smooth, creamy, and dense along with the perfect flavor. While much of this may seem subjective opinion, most folks can agree that fudge should be thick and rich.

Making the perfect fudge involves using the right ingredients, the proper methods for making it, and storing the fudge correctly. The perfect fudge should melt in your mouth while you are enjoying the flavor.

Tips for making dark chocolate fudge with no added sugar.

While this is a dark chocolate fudge recipe, semi-sweet chocolate is also used in order to get a more 'fudge-like' texture. Feel free to swap out a quarter cup of the semi-sweet chips for additional dark chocolate chips if you want a more dark chocolate fudge.

    More helpful tips for you.

    1. Sugar Free Condensed Milk is preferred in this recipe. However, you can alternatively use a full fat coconut milk instead.
    2. Sea salt is used in this recipe as it offers the perfect flavor balance in this fudge. Kosher salt is another option that could work in this recipe.
    3. My fudge was made in a 9x9 baking dish. For more servings you can use a larger baking dish or pan and for larger (bigger pieces) servings you can use a smaller dish or pan.

How to store this dark chocolate fudge made without condensed milk.

This fudge should be stored in an airtight container with parchment paper or wax paper between layers.
While you could store it at room temperature, I prefer to store mine refrigerated and then let it sit out for ten minutes or so before serving.
